Shelley Trembly was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She grew up riding and showing horses, and helping her family on their cattle ranch. She raised her 4 boys in Klamath Falls, and now they are grown.
Shelley went on to become a Registered Nurse, and a Qualified Mental Health Professional and is currently still in practice.
Shelley founded Solid Ground Equine Assisted Services in 2016, and it is located on the family ranch. At Solid Ground there are programs for children, at -risk youth, Veterans, Seniors, and Mental Health Services. These services are carried out through the adaptive riding program, Equine Assisted Learning Program, Veteran's and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program ans well as camps for kids in the summer and various outreach programs.

Alicia combines her background in education, creativity, and horse welfare to lead meaningful Equine Assisted Learning experiences through her initiative, Quest: Equine Assisted Leadership. Her work focuses on helping people connect, learn, and grow through horses while deepening awareness of equine wellbeing.

ola Kemp is an equine-assisted learning facilitator whose work is rooted in relationship, presence, and the lived wisdom of horses. Raised in Montreal and grounded in her French Canadian heritage, Lola felt a strong connection to animals from an early age, despite growing up in an urban environment. That connection would later become central to her personal healing and professional path. As a teenager navigating a challenging period in her life, Lola began volunteering at a therapeutic riding
farm. Working closely with horses and supporting children and youth with physical and developmental challenges became a turning point. Through daily care, responsibility, and attuned presence with the horses, she experienced firsthand the capacity of equine-assisted environments to support regulation, confidence, and a sense of belonging. This experience shaped her lifelong commitment to supporting healing and learning through human–horse connection.
Lola holds a degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology with a focus on Indigenous Studies. Her path has been informed by extensive travel, engagement with land-based and alternative approaches to horsemanship, and an ongoing mindfulness practice. Together, these experiences have shaped a trauma-informed, relational approach to her work.
After moving to British Columbia, Lola worked with the Dze L’Kant Friendship Centre where her roots deepened through community relationships. During this time, she met her husband, became a mother,
and welcomed her first horses, beginning with Rhea, a feral young mare who became one of her most influential teachers. Living and working closely with her herd over many years, Lola’s understanding of horses expanded through observation, study, and relationship-building. She came to understand horses as guides who support authenticity, regulation, and meaningful connection.
Today, Lola is certified through the Cartier Academy of Equine-Assisted Learning and the F.E.E.L. (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) approach. In 2023 she founded Hoof in Hand and has since
been offering equine-assisted learning and wellness programs to Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en communities, supporting children and teens, couples and families, and adults facing barriers.

A lifelong dream come true! Welcome to another Dreamwinds Grad Spotlight featuring Alikee Beach, owner and lead coach/facilitator at Annaleigh Acres Equine Assisted Learning Center.

Alikee has been a horse enthusiast and rider since she was a child. She spent her youth as a barn kid - spending endless hours at the barn working in every capacity - as long as horses were involved! Alikee learned early on about the magic of the horse, and there natural therapeutic ways. Moving forward to her adult years, Alikee became an elementary school teacher in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.

Annaleigh Acres is Alikee's dream come true. It was always her greatest wish to combine her two passions, teaching and horses into a career... and here she is! I look forward to sharing with you Alikee's journey and how she and her horses inspire other to grow into their best self through the variety of life changing programs she offers for women, families and youth.

In our first instalment we have Maud Revel of New Horserizons a graduate of the Dreamwinds program. Maud Revel is a Level III EAL Facilitator and combines her experience as a language teacher, a riding instructor and an Equine Assisted Learning facilitator. She set up New Horserizons in 2016, operating in New Lowell, Ontario Canada, just minutes from CFB Borden. She offers problem solving sessions using horses as mediators, and runs programs tailored to professionals in uniform, as well as Family Fun sessions and Date nights.

Cheralyne Gibson is a graduate from the Cartier Farms program and is the Horsemanship Director at Valley Equestrian Centre, which is located near Rosthern, Saskatchewan. She was certified as an EAL Facilitator at Cartier Farms in 2010. Cheralyne is an EC certified Western Instructor and has her EC English Level 8. In her program at VEC she pairs her diploma in Therapeutic Recreation with her equine expertise to operate an EAL and riding program that promotes self development through horsemanship.

Lori Burns is the Director and Certified EAL Facilitator of Horse Ability in Corbeil, Ontario, Canada. Lori graduated from the Cartier Farms EAL Certification Program.

While managing her facility planning business and projects in Metro Toronto and North Bay, Lori discovered Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) as a career. Lori obtained her certification through Dreamwinds & Cartier Farms Equine Assisted Learning, established Horse Ability and started providing Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) services in June 2015, offering experiential programs whereby a person learns and strengthens essential life skills through working with a qualified facilitator and horses.
Lori facilitates EAAT programs to people challenged with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries, addictions, trauma, abuse, grief / loss, behavioural issues, developmental delays, as well as offering self-discovery and leadership workshops through individual, semi-private and group sessions. Horses are incredible teachers!
Horse Ability’s strength comes from the desire to assist participants with their journey to better health, understanding the horse, by being perceptive to the powerful nature of human behaviour and in providing a unique environment conducive to learning. Through effective facilitation, each ‘experience’ plays out safely. This encourages personal evaluation / self-reflection to build on personal growth and experience.
A firm believer in ethics and continuing education, Lori has completed additional courses in EAL and Mental Health through Dreamwinds / Cartier Farms, EAL/EAP and PTSD, Intro to Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Trauma Training with Natalie Zlorde and also through the Domestic Violence Coalition, Intimate Partner Violence Workshops, as well as other on-going courses.

Today's episode features Megan Sykes of Chiron EAL in Cambridge, Ontario a Dreamwinds Graduate.
Megan has been a horse enthusiast since childhood. She certified as an EAL facilitator in 2015, and has run Chiron EAL since June of 2016. In addition to running the Chiron EAL programs, Megan continues to work for Dreamwinds EAL Centre, where she trained and certified. Megan has worked with a range of clients including:

Ladies' groups,
Couples,
Mainstream and at-risk youth,
Education workers,
And executive teams.

In the past 2.5 years Megan has been part of a team that has led programs for over 350 employees from a major Canadian bank.

As of August 2019, Megan is a Level III Advanced Facilitator.

In addition to running EAL programs, Megan is a riding coach, certified in 2014 by the International Society of Rider Biomechanincs, and she enjoys teaching riders and breeding Irish Sport Horses.

Janet is a CertifiedEAL Facilitator and sole proprietor of Reflections Equine Assisted Learning. Janet is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Equine Massage Therapist of 19 years and counting. She has a passion for working with people and horses and assisting then in their journey to wellness. Janet began REAL to provide a service to First Nations Youth Groups and First Responders, to help them cope with Mental Health challenges, which allows participants to overcome issues of depression, anxiety, aggression and addictions. One of the ways we do this is with horses because horses are capable of reading how a client is feeling and will give honest feedback to the individual to identify and work through their struggles in Mental health.

Today's episode features Samantha Dilworth of Dawson Creek, BC Canada. In 2016 Samantha discovered Dreamwinds and Cartier Farm's Equine Assisted Learning Certification Program. Exceptional Equine was a equine training and lesson business focusing primarily on Barrel Racing and Sam went out to find something that would allow her to work into her retirement years and it had to be with horses. Sam is now a Certified Level 3 EAL Facilitator running a very busy and successful EAL business hosting local school groups and families. Sam is always open to share the steps she took to transition, how she found success working with school districts, and how with the help from Tracey, Gayle and Janice she developed a successful business.
